Are these standard catalogue models?

No. Refractory anchors are made to drawings rather than fixed standard models. Send the required shape and dimensions for review.

Which shapes can I specify?

V, Y, Z and U shapes are available. Provide a drawing to define the dimensions and bend geometry.

What are the plastic caps on Y anchors for?

Mainly to leave a thermal expansion gap. The metal anchor expands more than the refractory castable; in service the caps burn away, leaving room so the anchor does not crack, bulge or loosen the lining. During casting they also set how deep the anchor sits, and on site they cover the sharp tips and keep castable off the ends.

What should I include in an enquiry?

Include the drawing, material grade, wire diameter, dimensions and quantity. Add lining details and service conditions for the intended installation.
