Washers & Anchors

HomeWashers & Anchors

Washers and anchors complete the fixing. Self-locking washers, also known as speed washers, press onto the pin and hold the insulation; dome caps cover the pin end for a neat, safe finish; lacing anchors join insulation blankets with lacing wire; and solar panel mesh clips fix bird-proofing mesh around rooftop solar panels.

For refractory linings, made-to-drawing V, Y, Z and U anchors hold castable and ceramic fiber linings. For building external walls, plastic and metal insulation anchors, often called insulation fixings, fix insulation boards to concrete, brick and block. Washers are made in galvanized and stainless steel to match the pin.

FAQ

Washer and anchor FAQs.

Key information for preparing an insulation fastening enquiry.

How do I match a washer to a pin?

By the pin diameter. The washer hole is made to suit the pin, so include the pin diameter together with the washer size and material.

Which washer sizes are available?

Round washers in 30, 32, 38, 50, 60 and 67 mm and square washers in 40, 50 and 64 mm, in galvanized or stainless steel.

What is the difference between plastic and metal insulation anchors?

Both fix insulation boards to external walls and are installed the same way. Plastic anchors have a 60 mm disc; metal anchors have a 35 mm disc in galvanized steel or SS304. The choice depends on the project requirements.
