The cup head spreads the holding force across the insulation surface. The pin passes through the insulation and is welded to the metal substrate, reducing the need to fit a separate retaining washer during installation.
Pin and weld point detail
Pin diameter, length and weld point geometry affect the required welding setup. Confirm these details together rather than selecting the head and pin separately.
Head thickness, head profile and weld point geometry are confirmed against the production specification for each order. Product photographs are for reference only.

Cup head pins are used where insulation is fastened directly to a weldable metal surface. Welding performance depends on the pin material and dimensions, substrate material and thickness, surface condition and equipment settings.
Paint, coatings, oxidation or contamination can affect the weld. Validate the actual combination by trial welding before production installation.

How are cup head (cuphead) pins installed?
The insulation is placed first, then the pin is welded through it to the metal surface. The 30 mm cup head holds the insulation, so no separate washer is needed.
Which sizes are available?
Pin diameters of 1.7 and 1.8 mm as standard, with 2, 2.3 and 3 mm made to order, in lengths from 19 to 300 mm. Common order lengths are 30, 45 and 63 mm.
Are insulated cup head pins available?
Yes, in all materials. A yellow insulation label is the common option; white can be made to order.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. There is no fixed minimum order quantity for cup head pins.
